Award Winning Dr. Sharbel Dalal, began piano at the age of five. He quickly developed a liking for the instrument and with the help of his teacher, he took on more complex pieces. Sharbel’s first composition was at the age of eight, although young, but it heralded what was yet to come.

After completing his education at The Rubin Conservatory of Music in Haifa, Sharbel moved to Canada to pursue music studies at the University of Toronto. He graduated in 2015 with a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in composition. Throughout his time at the university and beyond, his pieces have been performed in various concerts from New York to Jerusalem.

Sharbel was the recipient of the Marcel Khalife Composer of the Year Award in 2010. His music has been described as evocative and story-telling, similar to his piano performances in which he focuses on keeping the listener engaged and compositions that rely on having a memorable melody. Sharbel is excited to collaborate with the MDC network and he looking forward to compose music for many projects in the future.
